We wanted to do some new things with Alli so I (Kimball) decided to take her ice skating. We had to wait a few weeks to be able to go on a night that they were open and we were available. She struggled when I made her do it on her own, but loved it when I would push her around the ice. She always loves to go fast. Her favor part was when we went to talk to mommy for a bit, and when we left the wall, our skates got tangled and we fell. In fact, she fell first and then I landed right on top of her and pushed her face into the ice. She cried a little, but was ok. And you could barely see the small cuts the next day. She lasted about an hour, which was what we had planned.

The next day we decided to take her up skiing. So we went and rented some gear at Wasatch Ski Connection and headed up to Snowbird. Thankfully kids ski free, so the rental was the only cost. Again, she didn't like doing it on her own very much. If I didn't support her she often would just sit down. It was snowing hard, but she didn't mind that very much. Finally I tied my poles together and made a pseudo harness for her. We skied for about an hour and a half, and then she was super tired. Heidi took her home and I skied with my father, uncle, and cousin. We all had a lot of fun.

Wow! You guys are adventurous! I take Sophie to the zoo and the library. Alli looks like she had so much fun though.
How fun that you guys are doing this! I bet Alli had a great time, and will talk about that for a long time to come. Next time Heidi can strap on some skis with a little boy strapped to her back, right?!
So jealous! We got snow in VA this year, but no skiing for us. So sad! Now it is 90 degrees and we are off to the beach.
