Joseph/Mister/Handsome turned one last month! Crazy! He is soooo stink'n cute! We love this kid sooo much!
Here are some of the things he is doing:
- He's talking- mama, dada, mahma (grandma), ha (hi), baba (ba bye), papa, moe (more), and uh oh.
- Signing- more, all done, thank you, please, and bird.
- He walks along furniture and stands without holding on. When we try to have him walk by himself he just face plants towards us. He is an extremely fast crawler.
- He gets into everything (including toilet paper out of the toilet that Alli has just wiped her bum with).
- Loves his mama the most, but gets super excited when dada gets home.
- He blows kisses.
- He is a big tease.
- He loves playing peekaboo/hide and seek.
We were going to have a birthday party with my family the Sunday before his birthday, but we all got the stomach flu. Mom and dad were able to come down on his actual birthday to give him his present and eat cake. I made him a huge cupcake cake. He never really dove into the cake or made a mess with it. I guess he just wanted to make sure every last bit got in his mouth.
The next Sunday we had cake again with Kimball's family.
Now he knows how much he likes cake he was more agressive and even got made when we weren't letting him have a piece right then.
His 12 month checkup didn't go so well. First of all, he had to have a blood test and several immunizations. Poor kid and mom... He didn't gain any weight since the last appointment. The doctor was concerned, so she did a blood test and told me to give him 16 oz of whole milk (turns out that is a lot!) and lots of high calorie foods. He isn't anemic so hopefully the extra calories will work. The first couple of days we just kept feeding him and feeding him thinking that he was so hungry, but eventually he would throw up. I always heard that babies will stop eating when they are full but this kid doesn't. It is hard to know how much to feed him.
